How do you help new parents feel secure knowing that you’re providing the best care for your child?
I let the parents know their child is in good hands, tell them to download the app on their phone to keep up with their child’s day, and let them know they can call whenever they need to confirm something or just check-in.
Define success as a preschool teacher?
You need to be able to handle a lot of different situations, learn new things, in order to make it happen in the classroom setting. To me, success as a preschool teacher means having conversations with parents and having everything planned out for the week.
How do you know if your teaching strategies are effective?
You will see a change in the child’s reaction to things and parents will notice and thank you as your child improves with material they were struggling with.
How do you handle misbehavior in the classroom?
Sometimes, I redirect the child to make a better decision and talk to them to get them to realize what they did wasn’t appopriate, however it depends on the child as to how you approach the challenging behavior.
